College

Aldo couldn't decide to what college to go, as he was accepted to ten top colleges in the US and to 5 Ivy leagues. His grandfather went two years to Colby and after that transferred to Yale, so Aldo thought that Yale was a good choice.

Aldo's grandparents where really happy with his choice so they even sponsored his first trip to Europe.

Although during his first year at Yale, Aldo was more inclined toward sciences and especially biology, but during the summer he developed an interest that he kept for his all life: journalism.

According to his father and his friends, Aldo met a famous editor during his trip to Europe. The two of them traveled together and Aldo was fascinated by the way the famous editor approached his subjects.

When he went back to school, in his sophomore year, Aldo applied for a position for the school's newspaper. He wasn't accepted right away because he didn't had any background, so he had to prove that he was a good writer.

Aldo kept in close contact with the editors, and he wrote an article about the speech the President had at Yale. His writing style was neutral, but conversational and the editor loved it. He got a position as a full-time writer the very next day.

Aldo diSorbo was the editor of the newspaper during his last semester as a junior year and his senior year. During breaks, he worked as an intern at the New York times.

He got noticed right away and New York Times offered him a job even before he graduated. But Aldo deferred the offer and chose to go to graduate school at Harvard.

After finishing his graduation thesis, Aldo finally accepted the position. "Just then he felt ready to get that job, that was the moment when he really believed he deserved it," said his father in an interview.

"I was proud of him from the very beginning and it didn't really matter where he choose to work or what career path he decided to take,"he adds.
